Holiday Events in our Grade 1/2 Busy Bee Class!

Dear Grade 1/2 Families,

To celebrate the holidays, we will be doing some special activities in our Busy Bee class, incorporated with our learning activities.

Monday, December 15, 2014: COOKIE MAKING!!

Students will be learning about measuring and following instructions with this tasty activity. If there are any parents that are able to come volunteer and lead a group in making their batch of cookies, that would be fantastic, so there is more opportunity for students to participate. Or if you are able to donate some baking items (ie. flour, sugar, decorating items such as icing or candies), that would be wonderfully appreciated. Please let us know by sending a note through Class Messenger or in the planner. We will be doing this activity during the last block of the day (starting at 1:55pm until home time).

Tuesday, December 16, 2014: DRESS UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS SONG/CAROL & COOKIE DECORATING!!

Be creative in a way to dress up as your favourite holiday song! Put on a name tag of ‘Joy’ and attach a gift tag that says ‘to the World’ to represent ‘Joy to the World. Be Ruldolph with a red nose…the possibilities are wide open! Can’t wait to see what you everyone can come up with!!

Also today, we will be decorating our cookies that we baked on Monday. Students will be bringing home any that might not fit in our bellies!!

Wednesday, December 17, 2014 – SCHOOL HOLIDAY DINNER

Thank you to School Council for arranging this exciting school wide event. Please see the school newsletter for any assistance you can provide & return the form to the office.

Thursday, December 18, 2014 – HOLIDAY DANCE & RED/GREEN DAY

Come decked out in all your red & green holiday wear for our Primary dance that is happening today. It will be $1 to get into the dance or a non-perishable food donation. There will be drinks and chips will be for sale (we will post as soon as we know the exact cost). Later in the afternoon, ironically enough, we will be having a visit from the health nurse to discuss healthy eating habits! 🙂

Friday, December 19, 2014 – CHRISTMAS PJ PARTY!

Today, our last day, before the holidays, the class will celebrate with a Christmas PJ party, so wear your favourite pjs! Students will be watching the movie version of the class novel we have been studying, Fantastic Mr. Fox! Later in the afternoon, students will have some time to play their favourite board games. Students are welcome to bring their favourite board game for 6-7 year olds and all games will be returned home the same day.
