Our grade 2’s began inquiring about communities around the world just before March Break. A few weeks ago we started using Book Creator to make chapters in our iBooks about the communities we’ve learned about during our video conferences. After reviewing non-fiction text features, the kids are now applying what they know about non-fiction text features to create their own non-fiction texts about communities around the world. One of the features we love is the option to embed pictures and videos from our camera roll and/or the internet. Most kids have included their favourite pictures and video clips from our video conferences into their iBooks. Once the kids have finished their books they can publish them to iTunes and access their books in the iBooks Library. There is a free Lite version if you want to test it out. Otherwise it only costs a few dollars and it is well worth it!
