Puppetry

Today we entered the wonderful world of puppetry! Kristi started the workshop by discussing and showing different types of puppets, how they move, and how they are made. She then moved on to explain how to create character – the personality of a puppet through voice tone, accent, emotions, physicality, where focus should be, and bringing the puppet to life. Students were given puppets to walk around with and to try out different styles of voices and movements.

The kids were then divided into groups of 3-4 to re-create their own version of ‘What’s for Breakfast’. The kids got to be creative with the storyline, and create a unique personality for their own puppet character. Finally each group took turns presenting their puppet show for the class.
