Most primary teachers, myself included, assign a ‘star student’ of some kind to be the special helper for the day. I usually get the star student to do an oral presentation of some kind (show and tell, read a story, etc.). For the last few weeks, I thought I’d try getting my star of the day to present their best blog post to their classmates using the Smartboard. It has been a really great way to get the students more interested in each others’ blogs. The best part is that parents are used to helping their student prepare for their ‘star sharing’ day, and so they are finally taking the time to read their kid’s blog!
Yes! Fabulous idea. Thanks for the share. We’ll be adding this to our morning routine as well.

I love this idea, Becky! My kids have been showing an interest in each other’s blogs but now I have the perfect way to integrate oral communication too!
